Depending upon the use needed, a Materials Release/License agreement should be downloaded, completed and submitted to Rand McNally for consideration, pursuant to the instructions provided herein. Please click on one of the links below for instructions for your specific use.

Please Note: Copyright permission requests can take from 4 to 6 weeks to process.

Instructions for obtaining permission to use Rand McNally branded materials:

• For prop or content in a film, television or video production
  1. Download and complete the "Materials Release/License for Film Media" document. (Note that any and all requests to change the terms and conditions of the Materials Release/License for Film Media will be rejected).
  2. Fax or e-mail the partially executed "Materials Release/License for Film Media" document to (847) 329-6704 or permissions@randmcnally.com with a detailed explanation of how the product will be used along with any other pertinent information.
  3. After receipt of the partially executed "Materials Release/License for Film Media" document, RM will check the copyright status of the product you wish to use and will either send a rejection notice or a copy of the fully executed release (under no circumstances should you use the product before you receive the fully executed release).
• For academic or personal use
  1. Download and complete the "Materials Release/License for Academic/Personal Use" document. (Note that any and all requests to change the terms and conditions of the Materials Release/License for Academic/Personal Use will be rejected).
  2. Fax or e-mail the partially executed "Materials Release/License for Academic/Personal Use" document to (847) 329-6704 or permissions@randmcnally.com with a detailed explanation of how the product will be used along with any other pertinent information.
  3. After receipt of the partially executed "Materials Release/License for Academic/Personal Use" document, RM will check the copyright status of the product you wish to use and will either send a rejection notice or a copy of the fully executed release (under no circumstances should you use the product before you receive the fully executed release).
• For all other use requests (including advertising and reuse purposes)
  1. Email permissions@randmcnally.com with a detailed explanation of how the product will be used, the number of copies needed, the duration of such use and any other pertinent information.
